In September of 2017 I spent two and half weeks photographing Vietnam’s capital city using mostly Holga 35mm and medium format cameras. The mission was to document this rapidly changing city as for better or worse the city’s embracing of capitalism will soon render much of traditional Vietnamese ways of life as obsolete.
The first four images were my first attempt to develop film at home. I accidentally developed Kodak Porta 400 120 color film in black and white chemicals. The last two photos are among over 1300 developed by McClanahan Camera in Warrenton, Virginia.
